Taking your dog away with you can be a rewarding experience for you both, here at The Palm Court Hotel we love dogs and understand that dogs are part of the family. We know many owners like to take their dogs with them on holiday, with Palm Court being a dog friendly hotel, there is no need to leave your dog behind or at the kennels. Just book a dog friendly room and your canine friend can have a holiday too.

Your dog(s) can stay for a fee of £15 per dog per stay. We do have some small conditions for bringing your dog to The Palm Court Hotel and can be found here.

Great places to walk your dogs in Aberdeen include…

Hazelhead Park – Over 400 acres of beautiful woodland and parkland can be found on the outskirts of Aberdeen at Hazlehead Park. It’s a wonderful place to walk your dog and enjoy the park’s two rose gardens, sculptures and maze. Not located far from the hotel, it’s just over a mile away.

Duthie Park – Duthie Park is a great place to visit with your furry friend. In addition to a bandstand, fountains, statues and ponds around the park, you and your dog can have a walk around the Winter Gardens

Westburn Park – This expansive park has loads of open space for your dog to roam. Part of the local stream, Gilcomston Burn, runs through Westburn Park. There are plenty of benches around the park’s ponds, so if you and your dog need a rest, you can relax and enjoy the scenery together.

Seaton park –  It has a gorgeous floral display and It’s also home to the walled garden, which is perfect if you fancy a more secluded, quiet spot during your dog walk where you can enjoy a range of flowers and plants.

Aberdeen Beach and Queen Links – There is loads to keep you busy at this extremely popular recreational area in Aberdeen. Despite the season, you and your dog can have a wonderful walk at this award-winning beach.

Tips for travelling with your dog

If you’re travelling from afar then be sure to plan in extra time so you can make as many stops on the way as you need to exercise your four legged friend. Here are a few other tips to make your travel pet friendly and stress free:

– Feed your dog at least a few hours before they will travel, and if you will be travelling during a meal time try and make it a lighter feed than normal.

– Make sure you set off with a good supply of snacks and water.

-Ensure your pet is safe and secure for the journey with a simple dog car strap that will attach their collar or lead to a standard seat belt fitting.
